Mario Lopez CANCELLED By The PC Police For Saying 3-Year-Olds Can’t Decide Their Own Gender

Mario Lopez AKA the legendary Slater from Saved By The Bell is feeling the wrath of the internet’s ‘woke’ mob after suggesting that kids as young as three-years-old shouldn’t be deciding their own gender.

Lopez actually made the comments back in June while being interviewed by Candace Owens for YouTube, but it took the PC brigade until now to notice. Well now that they have he’s utterly screwed as people on social media are labelling him a transphobe, a bigot, and all the rest of it – an absolute career death sentence in 2019.

As per RT, the actor and host said he was “trying to understand” why some parents support their extremely young children’s declarations that they are a different gender and that he was “blown away” by adults letting kids as young as three-years-old declare themselves a different sex.

Here’s what he actually said that got him into trouble:

Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids obviously and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong but at the same time, my God, if you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make that determination then—’Okay, well then you’re going to be a boy or a girl,’ whatever the case may be. It’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on.

Seems like a reasonable take to me? It’s not like he went on a rant or said anything remotely hateful about trans people, he just said that toddlers might be too young to really understand the full implications of the situation. He even made sure to preface it with “I don’t want to tell anyone how to parent their kids”.

Anyway, here’s some of the backlash:

This led to an apology by Mario Lopez, who many are saying felt like he had no choice but to make if he wants to save his career in the woke times we are living in:

The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were.

I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.

Some people did stick up for him, mind:

Pretty sad state of affairs that a man can’t have his own opinion on a very controversial subject without riling up people on the opposite side so much that they literally try to ruin his life and career. Again, what the guy said was completely reasonable and not said out of malice or hate or any negative place at all, even if you want to disagree with him.

Anyway, it seems Mario Lopez is cancelled and there’s no going back now. At least we’ll always have the memories:
