Barbenheimer fever gripped the world over the weekend as people flocked to the cinemas for the first time in ages to check out ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’, with many viewers enjoying the movies as a double feature.

Unsurprisingly, more people seem to have checked out ‘Barbie’ than ‘Oppenheimer’ so far – it’s a little lighter, you know? – and by all accounts Greta Gerwig’s movie seems to have charmed the majority of the world’s population, aside from those who have labelled it ‘woke leftist propaganda’ of course. Whilst there might be some debate over the content of the film, one thing that doesn’t need to be discussed is Margot Robbie’s disappointment that she didn’t get to make out with Ryan Gosling as she’s being very open about it.

Here’s what she had to say about the decision:

All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well you did a whole movie with him and you don’t kiss? What’s wrong with you?

I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!’

I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off [my list]’.

That is a fair point to be honest as Robbie was listed as a producer on ‘Barbie’, so if she had wanted to get off with Gosling then she probably could have made that happen. However, I think the decision to treat the characters as dolls – there’s a scene where Barbie exclaims that she doesn’t have genitals as well – paid off for the movie as it presented a more nuanced and ultimately funny version of life as a doll in Barbieland.

Although of course this did also mean that a section of society felt the need to attack the movie for its unnatural sexual relationships and ‘woke bullshxt’. It never stops. Maybe just try and enjoy ‘Barbie’ for what it is?

For more of the same, check out when the human Barbie took the most messed up holiday photos of all time. What is wrong with some people?
