Damien Chazelle’s BABYLON is already being talked up for a bunch of Oscar wins, which makes sense given the ridiculous cast and the fact Chazelle has already won best director for La La Land and was behind the camera for both a best supporting actor and best actress win.
No doubt the hype will continue following the release of the first trailer:
Kinda seems like a mix of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, La La Land and Wolf of Wall Street? What a line-up too…
Seems like too big a production to fail, but you never know, especially when it comes to ‘films about making films’ which always turn out either awesome or totally rubbish. Fortunately, both the director and actors all have good track records even if the trailer didn’t exactly blow me away. Will have to check it out when it hits cinemas in December 2022 (US) and January 2023 (UK).
