Nightmare week for the Rashford brothers – first Marcus gets sent off with a red card during Manchester United’s UCL loss in Copenhagen, and now his brother/agent has been arrested for allegedly punching his girlfriend after finding texts from a Premier League footballer on her phone.

Dane Rashford pled not guilty to the charges of battery and is currently out on $1,500 bond after the incident at a hotel in Miami, where staff spotted his girlfriend walking through the lobby with a bloodied nose in the early hours of October 20.

As per MailOnline, when officers arrived outside room 335 they heard a ‘verbal altercation’ between a male and female, whom they identified as 31-year-old Rashford and Andrea Pocrnja.

The police report says the couple were returning home from a club when Dane ‘went through the victim’s phone and found text messages from her and another male’. Dane admits ‘pushing’ his girlfriend in the car, but not punching her, even though Pocrnja was lying in bed crying with ‘visible injuries to her face’ when police turned up:

‘The victim stated that the arrestee struck her in the face twice with a closed fist. The arrestee then got out of the Uber and walked away with the victim’s phone.

‘Once the victim was inside their hotel room, the arrestee entered the hotel room and a verbal argument ensued in regard to the text messages he saw on her phone.

‘The victim was on the phone with the front desk in an attempt to get the Wi-Fi password so that she could disable her phone that the arrestee had at the time.

‘The arrestee assumed that the victim was calling the police and a physical altercation began, which she does not remember specifics of because she was intoxicated.’

Wow. What is it with Manchester United and domestic abuse allegations? Ryan Giggs, Antony, Mason Greenwood, and now even their players’ brothers and agents are at it (allegedly). Way to embarrass his brother too after that 4-3 pummeling. Still, you have to wonder about the identity of the mystery Premier League player who text Dane Rashford’s missus’s phone. Could it be Jack Grealish? Mason Mount? Or maybe… Marcus Rashford himself?! Now that would be interesting.

What can you say really aside from let’s hope the victim is OK and that justice is done in the end…
