Nobody likes being put in the friendzone by a guy or a girl that they really like, but ultimately you have to get over it and try and be pals or just end the relationship and move on with your life. Sadly, the guy in this story managed to do the latter but wasn’t very happy about the situation and instead decided to sue his former friend to the tune of $3 million for emotional trauma.

Over in Singapore, Mr K. Kawshigan met Ms Nora Tan back in 2016 over in Singapore and by September 2020 he told her that she was his closest friend and that he needed more from the relationship. However she didn’t feel the same way and told him that he needed to be ‘more self reliant’ and moving forward she wanted them to define clear boundaries in their friendship.

As a result, on October 22nd of that year he threatened her with legal action and she offered to go to counselling with him in order to avoid a court case, which sounds ridiculous in itself. After 18 month of attending these sessions, it was clear that it wasn’t working and she cut contact with him and began harassment proceedings against him instead.

Kawshigan’s reaction to this was to file a $3 million lawsuit with the High Court against her for damaging his reputation, trauma, depression and an apparent loss of earnings and business partnerships because of their awkward friendship. He also filed a $22,000 magistrate’s court claim against her for allegedly breaching an agreement to improve their relationship.

The second case has already been thrown out with the court judgment saying the following:

Considered in totality, I find that the present action was intentionally initiated by the claimant with the ulterior motive of vexing or oppressing the defendant by requiring her to defend various claims that fundamentally stem from the same factual matrix in different forums.

This court will not be an accessory to his calculated attempt to compel engagement from the defendant who, after years of massaging the claimant’s unhappiness, has finally decided to stand up to his threats rather than cower and give in to his demands.

Sounds about right doesn’t it? Incredibly though, the $3 million lawsuit is set to have a pre trial hearing next week on February 9th. What is going on with the legal system in that country to entertain such nonsense?

You’ve gotta imagine that they’ll throw that out pretty quickly right? This Kawshigan guy sounds like a complete psychopath! Hopefully he ends up in jail himself for wasting everyone’s time and being a complete weirdo.
