The whole internet is buzzing about this attempted break in to Area 51 in September, so much so that almost three million people are now confirmed to be attending.

The crazy idea has gone so viral that even the US military themselves were forced to issue a statement warning people not to trespass in the area, but more reasons why this isn’t exactly a good idea are coming to light with rapid regularity. The latest of these is this press release from the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) that reveals that they shot a man dead at Area 51 back in January after he broke into the site and drove eight miles before security finally caught up with him:
At 5.18pm PST, an unidentified male failed to stop at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) security gate at Mercury, Nevada.
Both NNSS Security Protective Force Officers (SPOs) and Nye County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) took up pursuit.
After driving approximately eight (8) miles past the security gate, the individual came to a stop, exited his car and approached the SPOs and NSCO with a cylindrical object in-hand.
The suspect refused to adhere to verbal commands of both NSCO and the SPOs on scene.
When the suspect approached the officers, he was fired upon by both NSCO and a SPO.
The suspect died at the scene.
Damn they aren’t messing around there are they? So many questions about this one that will unlikely ever be answered though (unless we succeed in storming the place and getting in) but the main two are probably concerning who this guy is and what the hell the cylindrical object was in his hand? To be honest I don’t even know why they even bothered putting this press release out as it’s only going to make the place a whole load more mysterious, but I suppose they have some kind of accountability system (where they don’t actually release the details) or something.
Anyway, the point here is that September 20th we’re either gonna see a massacre or find out the truth about aliens or maybe both! Can’t come soon enough – gonna be hard to get a hotel room anywhere near the site though.
