A physiotherapist who was accused of indecent exposure and touching a student during training reportedly said, “sorry, my penis must have slipped out of my y-fronts.” The oldest excuse in the book.

Andrew Gardner allegedly asked the 21-year-old woman about her personal life and suggested they go on holiday together. A Health and Care Professions Council also heard how Gardner quizzed a separate colleague about her sex life with her husband, asking, “do you use a vibrator because he is crap in bed?” The guy would get a slap from me if he asked something so bold.
Anyway, the HCPC panel was having none of his excuses and said that his actions were definitely sexually motivated.
The incident involving the student occurred when she was on placement at Queen Victoria Hospital in Lancashire. She claims he started demonstrating techniques to her, but had intentionally worn loose fitting clothes in order to give her a little peep show. She said:
He was wearing loose fitting underwear, where he would have a hole in the front of the underwear.
I just lifted his leg up and, as I placed it back down, I noticed his underwear was gaping open and his penis was exposed.
I was just shocked, I was uncomfortable, I didn’t really know what to.
I just feel like you would be aware, knowing that type of underwear that he had on. It would be easy for him to expose himself.

At one point he even made a “sexual type noise” as she was using a “trigger point technique on him” and during another moment he touched her butt when she was treating him in the same way.
I would be putting some pressure on with my elbow then I felt his hand on my buttocks. It was almost as if he was holding on.
I couldn’t say for sure [how long he held on for]. It just felt like it was a long time. It could have been because I was shocked about the situation it seemed like a long time.
Grim. When she mentioned that she would soon visit her parents who lived in Spain, he even suggested that she go visit him as he was going to be in Malaga. Yeah, because that wouldn’t be the weirdest and most inappropriate getaway of all time.
As said, Gardner tried to claim that his penis “fell out” of his Y-fronts, but panel chair Janet Everitt said:
We found the registrant intentionally left his penis exposed for a period of time in order to obtain sexual gratification.
Plus there are all the other claims, as well as the other colleague who said he asked her those inappropriate questions about her sex life, which were apparently “out of the blue”. This guy sounds like a right pervert and clearly the panel agrees, as they say that Gardner should be struck off the HCPC register. He’s got 28 days to appeal – that’s 28 days to come up with a better excuse than “my penis must have slipped out.” Pull the other one, dude.
