It’s got to be a complete and utter bummer when your girlfriend dies right next to you because of a heroin overdose, but I definitely don’t think the right way to deal with that is to have sex with her corpse in the hopes that she comes back to life. This ain’t the movies pal.

Nevertheless, this is exactly the course of action that 39 year old Aaron Graser undertook when he found his girlfriend dead on his bed in Willimantic, Connecticut. Graser claims that he heard a gurgling sound so thought that she was still alive, and thought that if he tied her arms and legs to the bed posts and had sex with her then she would wake up.

Not content with the idea that she would wake up because someone was having sex with her (usual reaction), Graser also added the extra detail that he knew it would wake her up because she hated having sex with him. Not really sure what to make of that, but it sounds like a great relationship they’ve got going on there.

Here’s what the arrest warrant said:

Aaron stated he listened to see if the victim was breathing and he heard gurgling.

Aaron stated he knew the victim hated having sex with him so he figured that the victim might wake up if he had sex with her.

Couldn’t really make this stuff up could you? Graser plead guilty to the offence of fourth-degree sexual assault of a corpse (how are there four degrees of having sex with a corpse?) and was jailed for a year, which seems kinda harsh for what could possibly be an honest mistake? Bet he’ll have a blast explaining that to the other lags.
