There’s been a lot of talk recently on the internet about people finding their doppelgängers all over the world – people that essentially look exactly like them – and the picture above of a guy swimming in a pool in Vegas and running into his spitting image is perhaps the most definitive proof of the phenomenon we’ve seen yet.

Sean Douglas McArdle was just splashing around minding his own business in the pool when he noticed that a load of people at the side of the pool were laughing at him. This didn’t make him feel too good about himself, until he noticed that they were also giggling at another guy too – a guy that looked exactly like him.

Here’s what he had to say about the situation:

I wasn’t convinced until now… we are definitely in a simulation.

Today I randomly swam past my doppelgänger at the Flamingo pool in Vegas.

I immediately though holy sh*t that guy looks like the dude I see in the mirror

Then I thought he looks cooler than me.

Probably has real Club Master Ray Bans unlike my Zenni knock-offs.

His voice sounded like a recording, nothing at all like mine.

That’s really messed up. I guess the one guy is slightly bigger/fatter than the other and I suppose their resemblance is aided by the fact that they’re both wearing the same glasses and hat but even so it’s still really freaky though.

However, one commenter also pointed out that maybe it wasn’t as outrageous as we thought because there are three of these guys in every single craft brewery ever and he’s kind of got a good point. Maybe these guys are more commonly spotted than we think.
