The family of Oscar Pistorious have called the police after a man has threatened that he is organising for Oscar Pistorious to be gang raped in jail. They’ve also had to tighten their security after receiving death threats during his trial.

An unnamed 29-year-old man sent a WhatsApp message to Pistorious’s cousin Arnoldus Pistorious last week saying:

When Oscar returns to jail I will ensure that he is gang raped. Also he will suffer and I will have my man beat him properly. Your children will be murdered as well.

Pretty brutal stuff – I understand that people would want to see Pistorious suffer after he has been found guilty of killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp,  but it’s hardly fair to be threatening his family like that. After all, they haven’t done anything wrong.

Arnoldus said him and his other cousins had been receiving death threats, causing them to step up their at-home security.

I wonder if Pistorious will be told about this threat? Apparently he’s already terrified at the thought of having to return to prison. He recently told his buddy Kevin Lerena:

I don’t want to go back to jail. It’s a terrible place, so disgusting you can’t imagine.

Well, looks like that’s something you’re going to have to deal with buddy. And by the sounds of things, there are quite a few people who want to see you suffer real bad.

Pistorious’s trial is still ongoing at the moment and he is awaiting his sentence on July 6th.  This court case has been a traumatic one to say the least – check out this video of the athlete taking off his prosthetic legs and walking around the courtroom on his stumps.
