This story is a real ‘what would you do?’ moment and you could even imagine someone making a movie around a similar premise, because it really would be difficult to determine how to act in a situation where you find a load of drugs for free on the street and you can do anything you want with them.

Unfortunately for Shahein Saunders, he saw an opportunity to make a quick buck but was nowhere near smooth enough to style it out. Saunders claimed that he found a bag full of heroin, cocaine and knives on the street in Birmingham and then immediately decided to hop the first train to Loughborough to sell all of it.

Then it kinda sounds like someone ratted him out because police showed up at the address he was basing his operation out of and arrested him with 91 wraps of class A drugs and £1365 worth of cash from drugs he had already sold. He was sentenced to two and a half years in jail yesterday.

Having arrested another man they went to what was thought to be his address to search it.

The police saw you leaving from the rear of the property as you attempted to jump over fences.

They gave chase and saw you discard a bag which was recovered and found to contain 49 street deals of heroin and 42 wraps of cocaine, collectively worth £1,330. There was also £1,365 in cash, reflecting the money already made from selling other drugs, and a knife.

I accept references paint a clear picture of you being a genuinely nice and caring man. On your account, however, you decided to spontaneously become a drug dealer in Loughborough, having found the drugs and a knife in Birmingham. You chose to become a drug dealer and arm yourself and make money selling drugs. This was your operation.

Yeah you can’t really argue with that can you? Also kinda suspicious how Saunders knew exactly where to go in Loughborough to start selling drugs?

Makes me think he just might have known some people in the industry/already dabbled with it himself. It’s not like you’re gonna just find all these drugs on the floor and decide to sell them if you’re an absolute square who has no clue what they’re doing is it? Although it does sound like he got pretty unlucky in getting caught.

Anyway, it’s an interesting question isn’t it? What you would do if it happened to you? Don’t think there’s much point handing them in to the cops as they would probably just give you more shit than it was worth about where they came from – especially if you’re black – so I would probably just take it home, hide it under my bed and sell a bunch of it to my friends ASAP. Definitely wouldn’t go to Loughborough and become a major drug dealer! That’s a bit hectic.
