Back in 2012, an episode of My Strange Addiction introduced us to Nathaniel and his ‘soulmate’, a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo named ‘Chase’, which he passionately kissed during the episode and admitted having sex with.
Here’s a reminder:
Taking ‘sex drive’ to a whole new level there. Anyway, I don’t want to make too much fun of Nathaniel because he’s going through a very difficult time at the moment. You see, Chase was seriously damaged in an accident and had to be written off. Which means Nathaniel has been left… widowed?
TLC returned to check up on Nathaniel recently and found he was coping with his loss by making a bed out of some parts of Chase, and printing pictures of the two of them together on the duvet covers. Not sure that’s the ideal way of moving on but we already know Nathaniel is a guy who beats to the sound of his own drum. He told the programme:
“Unfortunately Chase is no longer part of my life. I think think about it a lot, it breaks my heart that he’s not here.
The bedroom is just a special place and I feel like that was just the perfect place for him, just to have him close to me.
The blanket is special to me because it’s got a lot of his good pictures on it. Just cute stuff like him getting a bath and us together. You look back and don’t realise the things you take for granted until it’s too late.”
Breaking down in tears mid-interview, Nathaniel said he wanted to ‘try and keep him in my life.”
It’s not all doom and gloom though, because despite still thinking about Chase every day and making that weird bed out of his corpse, Nathaniel has since got himself a new car that he also gets jiggy with.
He’s not the only one either – remember the guy who committed to a Volkswagen Beetle after having sex with 1,000 cars? I guess he found ‘the one’.
