Everyone enjoys farting every now and again – come on admit it, it’s good to get that gas out, although sometimes the after effects can leave a lot to be desired – but I think if you were doing it constantly for five years then it would really start to affect your quality life.

This is sadly the situation that 46 year old Tyrone Prades has found himself. He’s claiming that ever since he ate a ham roll from the Birmingham Christmas market in 2017 he’s been affected by stomach cramps, fevers, vomiting and diarrhoea and initially spent five weeks in bed following the consumption of the roll.

Prades is now suing the Christmas market for £200,000 due to the life changing flatulence that he’s experiencing. Here’s what his lawyer Robert Parkin said about it all:

The claimant continues to suffer from excessive flatulence, which causes him a great deal of embarrassment.

The symptoms are, primarily, fatigue and altered bowel function associated with ‘churning’ within his abdomen and flatulence.

The claimant’s stomach continues to make frequent churning noises to the extent his sleep can become disrupted.

The extent of the symptoms has been life-changing.

Sounds absolutely terrible doesn’t it? Frankfurt Christmas Market Ltd are of course denying the charges, stating that although an e-coli infection was discovered on a knife at the market, Tyrone’s symptoms are more in line with salmonella so they’re not liable. Bit iffy but I suppose you can’t blame them for not wanting to hand over £200,000.

The trial is set to go ahead at a later date and I guess we’ll have to see what happens. Not sure that any amount of money could help Tyrone with his farting problem, but I suppose £200,000 would go some way to helping him. Rooting for him on this one.

For more of the same, check out this study that says smelling your partner’s farts makes you live longer. Guess Tyrone’s girlfriend is going to be immortal.
