As the old saying goes, “if you’re gonna dish it out, make sure you can take it”. The guy in this story could absolutely not take it, because when he got pulled up in court he ended up crying like a little baby.

A 49-year-old guy from Portland, Oregon named Frederick Nolan Sorrell thought it would be appropriate behaviour to follow an African-American Muslim couple in his truck for 20 blocks and shout racist abuse at them. The Portland Police’s ‘Bias Crimes’ unit investigated him and on July 10th Sorrell was arraigned on hate crime charges, promptly bursting into tears in front of live television cameras.
You can see that clip and have a good laugh at the scumbag and his sorry excuses below. Here’s what he had to say for himself:
I never tried to run into them. I was just going to work. I never tried to follow them. I never tried to make contact with them after the fact.
I guess my fear and paranoia, I just yelled out. I don’t go on social media looking to hate on people… I guess my ignorance and my stupidity is why I opened my mouth, and I shouldn’t have and I claim full responsibility.
I don’t know who you are. I’m sorry I blurted out what I blurted out, my paranoia my fear. I don’t hate you I don’t know you. I don’t wish death upon these people.
If the victims want to sit down and talk I would love to sit down and have an open conversation with them and have an open mind and apologise. I just don’t know them, and all I know is fear-based information.
Sounds like he had a lot of good advice about how to make a plea bargain there. Interestingly, even though he said he didn’t go on social media to hate on people, Sorrell has been banned from using Facebook in the terms of his bail as the judge found him to have made several discriminatory comments on the social media platform.
Guy just sounds like a piece of work really. Hopefully his comments are sincere and he turns his life around, but I can’t really see it happening, can you?
