Welp, seems like she made a good judgment call in the end. Dude is probably never going to see daylight ever again after this move, which is a shame because he has NBA-level potential with a leap like that.
As per The Hill, Deobra Redden, 30, a three-time convicted felon, was being sentenced in Judge Mary Kay Holthus’ courtroom on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm. Before the attack, Redden’s lawyer asked Holthus to sentence his client to probation. Holthus then said, “I think it’s time he get a taste of something else.” Which is a pretty cocky thing for a judge to say, especially with a known violent criminal stood just a few feet in front of her.
Pretty poor showing by the court room staff and police in attendance, too. Why was Redden not in handcuffs? Pretty sure that would’ve been a good idea considering he was being sentenced for his 1,000th violent offence in court that day. Might’ve been a good shout to have his hands cuffed behind his back?
Well anyway, here’s hoping the judge is OK and good luck to Deobra Redden going to prison with a girl’s name. Reckon that’s where his anger issues started?
