Madonna really hasn’t seemed herself these last few years, and the worry was always that she’d end up with some kind of emergency health crisis and sadly this seems to have come to a head this week.
Apparently nothing to do with any rumoured opiate or drug use, but rather a ‘serious bacterial infection’ that has resulted in The Material Girl cancelling her world tour after she was found unresponsive and admitted to intensive care.
Her latest Instagram post now reads a little eerie, with Madge sharing a bunch of images with herself alongside the caption: ‘The Calm Before The Storm……….’
No word on what this ‘serious bacterial infection’ is, as bacterial infections can be anything from standard food poisoning to sepsis, but her manager has simply stated it is ‘serious’ and she is still ‘under medical care’:
‘On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU.
Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.’
Well that’s reassuring. I know we’ve taken the p-ss out of Madonna plenty of times on these pages over the years, but at the end of the day, she’s still a legend of the game who is still very much living life on her own terms, even at 64. Gotta respect it.
Get well soon, Madge!
