Awkward moment for Madonna at her concert in LA the other night, after she called out a fan who was sat down in the crowd, only to then realise that person was in a wheelchair. Whoops…
Madonna questions fan for sitting down during her show then finds out they’re on a wheelchair:
“Oh okay, politically incorrect, sorry about that. I’m glad you’re here.” pic.twitter.com/oezHxfjrFn

I’m not sure what the best way to recover from calling out a wheelchair user is, but saying “oh okay, politically correct, sorry” probably isn’t it. At 65 years of age, you’d think Madonna might realise that a good amount of her fans are also 65 and so a wheelchair at her show shouldn’t be that rare to see. Then again, I don’t think she realises she’s 65 so maybe it’s a fair enough oversight?
In any case, it’s pretty obnoxious for Madonna to call any fan out like this for sitting down at her concert, wheelchair or not. If someone wants to come to your show and spend the whole time sitting down, then that’s their right as paying customer. Most importantly, it helps avoid any small chance of a real life Curb Your Enthusiasm episode playing out before our very eyes. Just a bad look all around.
How we should like it if that wheelchair user said something about her face? Exactly.
