Whilst we’ve all been following the news of Nicola Bulley’s disappearance for the past couple of weeks, there may have also been a breakthrough in one of the biggest missing persons case of all time: Madeleine McCann.

A week or so ago, 21 year old Polish woman Julia Wandelt went viral on Instagram after claiming that she might be Madeleine McCann, explaining that she has a similar freckle on her leg and a speck in her eye like the missing toddler, as well as believing that she looks similar to Kate and Gerry McCann. Even though she is officially 21 and Madeleine would be 19 at this point in time, she believes that her documents may have been falsified after she was trafficked as a child.
There’s actually a load of stuff/evidence on her Instagram profile so it does seem as though she isn’t coming out with this stuff on a whim or anything like that. Her own life story is particularly horrific, as she reveals that she recently learned she was the victim of a German paedophile who was a suspect in the Madeleine McCann case in a pretty extensive post.

Geez I don’t really know what to say about that. I suppose there’s some chance with her story and the similarities to some aspect of the Madeleine McCann case, but it does sound a bit crazy and preposterous doesn’t it, especially considering she doesn’t look that much like Maddy. I guess we really don’t know at this point and there is enough to make us take it seriously though.
Her video obviously found it way to the McCanns too and they seem to be interested in what she’s saying, as they’re now trying to sort out a DNA test with her. Here’s what a source close to the family had to say about it:
The family are taking no chances, they are willing to look at all leads. It is important they look at all of the factors. The girl does look similar. There’s no disputing that.
If what she says is true, there is every chance it could be her. It all adds up.
Sounds like they’re fully on board with it and that we should find out in the coming days. Can you imagine if she actually was Madeleine McCann and the mystery was finally solved after all these years? Mad – although I’m not going to be putting any money on this one.
