MMA is often regarded as the most brutal combat sport out there, but people obviously haven’t witnessed M1 medieval fighting if that’s the case. This shit is next level.

I can’t actually believe that this ‘sport’ exists and has people actively participating in it, although it only seems to be active in Russia which probably says it all. It basically involves two grown men dressing up in suits of armour and the proceeding to beat the shit out of each other, complete with swords and shields.

I imagine that most of the KOs in the sport are pretty brutal, but this one in the video below really takes it up another level. The dude literally pounds the guy in the face with his shield over and over again until he can’t take it anymore. It looks painful.

Ouch. I’m not even really sure why the referee even exists in this situation because it didn’t seem like he does anything except call the fight when the guy is completely and utterly dead. At least in MMA they stop the fight when it looks like the guy can no longer defend himself, here it looks as though they’re just standing there watching someone get the absolute ass beaten out of them. Not sure what the point of that is, unless you just want to get a closer view of the action.
