It’s baffling to think that there are people out there who believe that Lucy Letby is innocent. I mean, it’s one thing to feel like you know better than the investigators, forensic experts, and Lucy’s own colleagues, but what about the damning handwritten notes found in Letby’s home?

Well, not only does Lucy Letby have her own group of supporters and truthers, they also gathered at the Windmill pub in Clapham, south London, earlier this month to celebrate the child killer’s 35th birthday on January 4.

A small group of six people, who reportedly met on a Facebook group titled ‘Lucy Letby Discussions’, attended. Glasses of prosecco, homemade banners and a giant cake with ‘Lucy’ scribbled on it were all enjoyed by this group as they toasted to Letby’s birthday.

Naturally, the Windmill pub is now in crisis mode, reaching out to the media to assure they had nothing to do with this and were not aware of what was happening:

‘We are not aligned to this group of individuals in any way.

‘A small birthday gathering was booked in to dine at the Windmill on January 4th. We were not aware of the details of the occasion other than it being a “birthday”.

‘The guests did not make the team aware of the reason for their visit and the banner supporting their cause was not on display whilst any of our team or other customers were in attendance.’

Fair enough really. This Lucy Letby fan club really did the pub dirty by arranging their get-together at the venue without letting on. But then what do you expect from a group of people who are sharing these kinds of comments on Lucy Letby groups on Facebook:

Incredible. Lucy Letby will of course spend the rest of her life in prison after murdering 7 babies in a neonatal unit while working for the NHS, and attempting to murder 7 more. Imagine how brutal it is for those poor parents who will never get to celebrate the birthdays of their murdered babies, to now have to hear about Lucy Letby’s fan club throwing her birthday parties in London. It’s honestly unbelievable that these people exist.

I wonder – if Lucy Letby were to be freed tomorrow, would her supporters trust them with babysitting their newborns, unsupervised? Maybe they literally are that crazy.
