Very sad news this week with the tragic death of adult film legend Kagney Linn Karter, made worse when the gruesome details of her death were revealed. Now, Louis Theroux, a man who got to know her well in 2012, has paid tribute to the 36-year-old with the following Tweet:

If you’ve watched ‘Twilight of the Porn Stars’ with Louis Theroux, you’ll have seen that Kagney Linn Karter was a genuinely nice person with a great personality. Unfortunately, she also had a thoroughly dysfunctional love life, not to mention whatever traumas and experiences she may have endured within the adult film industry itself.

Sadly, Kagney Linn Karter joins a growing list of porn stars who took their own lives after they retired from the industry. Jesse Jane, Dakota Skye, August Ames, Emily Willis, Raven Bay, Zoe Parker, Jessica Jaymes, Cherry Poppins and Kacey Chase are all former adult film stars who have commited suicide, many of them after they had stopped performing.

I suppose it’s a glamourous job and lifestyle when you’re younger, but as you get older, can become much darker and harder. Then again, as the Louis Theroux documentary highlighted, it’s hardly an industry that attracts the most mentally stable people in the first place.
