3) Nothing Is Limitless
Even a figure that sounds huge won’t necessarily last for ever. So spend wisely if you can. Back in 1961, British couple Vivian (above) and Keith Nicholson hit it big with a huge football pools win. They got over £150,000 which in today’s world would be worth closer to 3 million.
Vivian basically lost her marbles and went on an insane spending spree. She could no longer relate to the people around her and became isolated in her own community. Her husband died in a car crash in 1965 and by that point Vivian had spent the majority of her cash. After Keith’s death she was declared bankrupt because everything she’d bought and all the money that was left, was declared part of Keith’s estate and consequently she didn’t have access to it.
After a three-year court battle she won some of the money back and then promptly lost it on bad investments. So she ran off to Malta, assaulted a policeman and got deported. Vivian, bless her, ended up in a mental home trying to escape the violence of her third husband.
Oh, and then she released a single called “Spend, Spend, Spend” to try to win back some fame. It failed.
Spend wisely folks.
