WWE fans are a notoriously cynical bunch, but even they can’t believe how good Logan Paul has been so far in his run as a pro wrestler.

As he’s still getting the hang of things though, he’s prone to the odd botch or two, which last weekend almost resulted in him breaking his neck as Ricochet hit him with a mistimed ‘Spanish Fly’ finisher through a pair of tables at ringside:

Yikes. Here’s how Logan Paul looked backstage after the match (which he lost, obviously):

Last night, Logan Paul spoke out on his podcast about how he wasn’t prepared for the move at all, and Ricochet just went through with it anyway:

I’m gonna be honest, he (Ricochet) blew the f**king match for me. There was a botched move with a dangerous landing. I walked away this time relatively unscathed.

Ricochet and I were supposed to do what’s called a Spanish fly off the top rope. So one of our legs is on the rope, one of our legs is on the ladder, and we are supposed to hit it at the same time. When he hit that rope, it was before me. So he moved it, so I slipped down, all the way to the bottom. Keep in mind, I’m a noob, I don’t really know what I’m doing out there. So when stuff goes wrong, I don’t really know how to improv.

In my head, I’m like, ‘This is f—ed. We f—ed this up. How is this gonna do this? Is he even gonna do this?’ Our legs are all twisted like this. I’m looking at him like, ‘Oh, this motherf—er is still trying to send this sh-t.’ I’m not even ready, his feet aren’t even planted off the second rope, just hucks a backup. I’m like, alright. Went crashing through the tables, scraped my shoulder, I hit my head on the thing. I’m fine, no concussions or anything. It’s just a wild sport. I don’t know what I’m doing.

Have to admire the commitment, really. This guy’s a famous YouTuber with millions in the bank and doesn’t need to be risking serious injury (or worse) by diving off ladders and catapulting through tables with pro wrestlers who have been doing it way longer than him, but he’s out there doing it anyway. Fair play to the lad.

Logan Paul is now set to take on Ricochet at WWE Summerslam in August. No doubt they’ll try to top that move with something even more dangerous. Can’t wait?
