Three of Lizzo’s former dancers are suing the ‘Good as Hell’ performer for allegedly subjecting them to constant weight-shaming, sexually denigrating behaviour and pressuring them to participate in disturbing sex shows in Amsterdam.
Plaintiffs Arianna Davis and Crystal Williams claim in the lawsuit filed Tuesday and obtained by Page Six that they were eventually fired while the third plaintiff, Noelle Rodriguez, resigned over Lizzo’s “stunning” behavior.
“… things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas,” the lawsuit states, adding that Lizzo allegedly “pressured” and “goaded” Davis into touching one nude performer’s breasts.”
Now I love bananas as much as the next guy, but that’s just completely out of order. A month later, Lizzo, 35, tricked the dancers into attending another nude show, which they claim “robbed them of the choice not to participate.”
Well, if all this is true, it’s a one way ticket to Cancel City for Lizzo. Taking your dancers to a sex show is one thing, but forcing or pressuring them to get involved in it is quite another. The plaintiffs’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement:
The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing.
Indeed, if you can prove in a court of law that your boss forced you to eat a banana out of a sex worker’s vagina while on a work trip, you have to think it’s #gameover for said boss, especially when their whole brand is preaching tolerance and inclusivity and being kind and whatnot. As for the weight-shaming, was she shaming them for being… too fat? Too thin? That one’s a mind-boggler. RIP Lizzo’s career in advance.
