I never really understood why everyone went wild for Salt Bae when he became a meme back in 2017 or whenever – he was just some chef with dumb glasses on sprinkling some seasoning on your steak essentially – but he’s somehow managed to open some of the most expensive restaurants in the world off the back of it and somehow remain relevant to this day.

One man who wasn’t falling for any of his crap though was the now certified GOAT Lionel Messi. Salt Bae somehow managed to make it onto the pitch following the World Cup final yesterday and was desperate to get a picture with Messi for his Instagram, but Messi pretty much told him to do one, hopefully not even knowing who he was. Or recognising that he was just some dumb hanger on who didn’t really deserve to join in with the celebrations.

Lol that’s funny isn’t it? ‘Yeah mate, I’ve just won the World Cup and want to celebrate with my teammates, go sprinkle salt somewhere else you bum’. Love it.
Sadly though, Salt Bae did somehow manage to get his hands on the World Cup itself and take a picture with it in front of the goal with multiple members of the Argentina squad – eventually even including Lionel Messi. Messi doesn’t really look like he’s particularly enjoying it or too stoked about it though at least. All of the others look kinda awkward too, probably questioning why he’s even there again.
What a knob. The one where he pretends to sprinkle stuff on the World Cup and then sort of pulls it away from Cristian Romero’s little kid is beyond cringeworthy really. Does he really think that any of the Argentina squad care about celebrating with him after they just won the World Cup? Get a grip guy.
Not really sure if a celebrity chef should even be allowed to touch the World Cup either to be honest – I’m pretty sure that there are some pretty strict rules about who can touch it, and you shouldn’t really be holding it like that unless you’ve actually won it because it’s such a coveted prize. It’s really disappointing and lame that they let Salt Bae pose like this with it in multiple dumb Instagram posts, although most of the comments on them are calling him out for being a major dickhead so it hasn’t gone as well for him as he hoped. At least Messi seems to know what it’s all about too.
For more of the same, check out when Salt Bae shared a £141,000 bill from his Abu Dhabi restaurant recently. Get a clue there buddy.
