So here’s the before and after…
Pretty major…
A crack team of vets were flown into the wilderness ASAP to treat Siena. They darted the cat and operated on her for about 3 hours trying to patch the beast up and put her back together.
They pumped her with some good old antibiotics and let her get back to her cubs who were probably peckish by then.
Wakey wakey…
Apparently, two days after her op she was spotted feeding and moving about so hopefully she’ll recover fully. Lions generally get to about 14 years of age in the wild, so she’s already had a good innings and all that.
I bet she gives buffalo a wide berth from now on.
