LinkedIn User Sparks Furious Backlash Over His ‘Let’s Talk About Boobs For A Sec’ Post

LinkedIn may be the one website on the internet where you don’t expect to see nonstop boobs everywhere, but that didn’t stop ‘business storytelling expert’ James Langridge from publishing a 200-something word post comparing the presentation of boobs to the presentation of ideas this week.

The since-deleted post (cheers LinkedIn mob) was titled “Let’s talk boobs for a sec… Are they any less valuable if they are attractively presented?”, and featured an image of actress Hayley Atwell.

Langbridge’s theory was that “The larger they are, the more they tend to be covered up. The smaller they are, the more they tend to be ‘on show.'” Stick with him here…

The idea is that the more confidence people have in what they’re presenting (boobs or otherwise) the less they shout about it. According to Langbridge, this could even result in people hiding their natural gifts, and nobody wants that, do they? (Again, boobs or otherwise).

His post continues: “There are a lot of people in marketing working with A cup ideas and using verbal pushup bras to attract eyeballs, prospects and sales. But there are a quiet minority in turtle necks and big coats packing FF concepts and offers.”

Langridge urged his fellow LinkedIn user to take off the turtlenecks and big coats and let those boobs ideas out. He wants to “show off a little more and let’s make marketing classy again.”

No doubt Langbridge thought he had absolutely nailed it with this post and would be forming all kinds of new connections on LinkedIn because of it. Unfortunately, LinkedIn users weren’t too keen on the boobs analogy, and now Langbridge is being ‘cancelled’ – who could have seen that coming?

Among the comments undermining his post:

“We’ve unearthed a caveman that does not belong in this millennium, let alone on LinkedIn.”

“Am I on LinkedIn or an Incel Subreddit?”

“Imagine a post on LinkedIn that talked about men’s that stay hidden have more value; would that have been acceptable here? Why then would a post about women’s body parts?”

Some even called for Langbridge to be banned from LinkedIn completely, but that seems a bit harsh tbh. Sure, it was completely inappropriate to compare the way we present business ideas to the way women present their boobs, but not all analogies can be winners, can they? The guy made himself look like a c0ck and got shamed over it. Isn’t that enough of a punishment?

Langridge has yet to respond to the criticism on his LinkedIn page, although he did later post a message on Facebook about the incident, writing: ‘Think you have the balls to say whatever you think? Check out the comments on my LinkedIn post and come back to me…’

Seems like he’s seen the error of his ways then…
