So for those who may not have heard what’s going on – rapper DaBaby went on a homophobic rant during his Rolling Loud set in Miami last weekend.

If you didn’t listen, he basically said “if you don’t have AIDS and aren’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone light in the air”. Now you may have noticed DaBaby himself didn’t put his cellphone light in the air, but that’s neither up nor down. Celebrities including Elton John, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus and Questlove all took to social media to condemn DaBaby’s comments…
(1/5) We’ve been shocked to read about the HIV misinformation and homophobic statements made at a recent DaBaby show. This fuels stigma and discrimination and is the opposite of what our world needs to fight the AIDS epidemic.

Which probably should’ve been the end of it, except DaBaby then went online and responded to the backlash by defending his comments and acting like people get more upset by homophobia than racism…
I tell fans to put a cellphone light in the air y’all start a million man March.✊🏾
I told you y’all digested that wrong 🤷🏾♂️but I ain’t gone lie I’m impressed.
Now show this same amount of support when a racist cop kill one of our black ass…YA NOT 😂

Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies 🙏🏾
But the LGBT community… I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business.

& for any brands, networks, or artists that like to profit off of black rappers influence on the culture, without understanding it or having the patience to deal with what comes with the position we play in our culture.

Amazingly, even T.I. went on Instagram Live to defend DaBaby’s comments, and used the opportunity to take shots at famously gay rapper/singer Lil Nas X as well. He said:
If you gonna have the Lil Nas X video and him living his truth, you gonna damn sure have people like DaBaby who gonna speak their truth. Ain’t nothing wrong with none of it, it ain’t got to be no hate — it’s all honesty. Everybody living in their truth.
Well that’s one way of looking at it I suppose. Rapper Lil Boosie also went on Instagram Live to share a similar sentiment and even announce he would beat up Lil Nas X if ever acted gay in front of him…
(Lil Nas X) a lil f*ggot ass. If I’m at an awards [show] and he go up there naked, I’ma drag his ass offstage and beat his ass.
Well, at that point Lil Nas X had heard enough, and jumped onto Twitter to take some shots at the gay-bashers and accuse them of being the exact thing they claim to hate:
i’m starting to think you niggas gay too cuz yall stay on my dick
— nope 👶🏾 (@LilNasX) July 28, 2021
some of y’all not even mad that i’m gay, some of y’all mad that i’m gay and still succeeding.
— nope 👶🏾 (@LilNasX) July 28, 2021
Boom – mic drop. He’s also been replying to every negative comment under his Tweets with a link to his ultra gay music video ‘Industry Baby’, which is currently the #1 most streamed song on the internet. As T.I. says, everyone is entitled to their views but don’t be surprised when you’re being openly and proudly homophobic in 2021 and it ends up backfiring in your face. After all, DaBaby has since been dropped from the UK ParkLife festival and also from boohooMan as well. Boo hoo, man. You reap what you sow.
Take it away, Nas (warning = extremely gay music video):
For more from DaBaby, check out the time he called a 17 year old YouTuber a bitch in a new song. Just a great guy all-round really.
