Well, the Jane’s Addiction reunion tour turned out to be an absolute disaster (which many predicted, to be fair), with the tour now cancelled completely after lead singer Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro for seemingly no reason mid-song at the weekend. The good news is that Perry Farrell has finally decided to apologise for the incident, days after having his girlfriend put out a statement which explained that Farrell was in a bad mood because he was suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat, which doesn’t really justify why he decided to assault his bandmate out of nowhere.

Well now, Farrell’s reps have got in touch with Variety to put out a further statement, in which he actually does apologise for his behaviour during the gig:

“This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologise to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.

“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behaviour, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

It’s also claimed that Farrell was ‘punched three times’ in the stomach by his other bandmates after being removed from the stage following the incident last weekend, if that makes anyone feel better.

And so, the Jane’s Addiction reunion tour comes to an abrupt and sad end, with fans now asking for refunds given the band only played a few songs before they started beating each other up. Is it time to kick Farrell out of the band and return with a new singer, like Linkin Park did the other week? Maybe as Jane’s Intervention or Jane’s Rehab?

In any case, music fans will be hoping that Oasis aren’t taking notes in case they decide to cut their own reunion tour short. Imagine – Liam belting out Wonderwall and Noel strumming away on his guitar, only for Liam to then walk over to Noel and punch him in the face for no reason. Reunion tour over and all that waiting around in the Ticketmaster queues will have been for nothing. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that.
