Laurence Fox has landed himself in hot water again after sharing a (since-deleted) upskirt photo of TV presenter Narinder Kaur on his Twitter page, apparently as revenge for Narinder mocking model Leilani Dowding for her ‘right wing views’ and for getting her baps out for money.
Fox shared the photo – which shows Narinder Kaur sitting in a car without underwear on – alongside the sarcastic caption: “I for one applaud the celebration of modesty which Narinder highlighted in her criticism of @LeilaniDowding for getting her baps out. We need standards in public life.”
Obviously we’re not going to share the unedited photo in question, but here’s a blurred version to give you some idea:
Pretty wild move to share an upskirt photo of a woman on social media just because you disagree with her political views, and even more so that Laurence Fox kept the image up for 48 hours despite loads of people telling him it was illegal and he could get in trouble for it.
In fact here was his response when someone advised that he take the image down:
Inevitably, Narinder Kaur announced on Twitter that she had got in touch with the police and this finally prompted Laurence Fox to do the sensible thing and delete the image (after millions of people had already seen it, of course)…
A spokesperson for the Met says:
“We have been made aware of a post on social media regarding an up-skirting offence and we are currently working to establish the circumstances.”
I’m not 100% sure whether is is illegal for share an upskirt photo online, as opposed to taking the photo yourself, but I guess that’s something we’ll find out soon enough. Either way, what a brainless move by Laurence Fox, especially after he’s just been ordered to pay £180,000 to two people he called paedophiles on the same platform. Now he’s probably going to end up opening his wallet again, and all because he has zero impulse control when it comes to clashing with total strangers on Twitter.
Doesn’t do himself any favours, does he? Here are a few consensually-taken photos of Narinder Kaur he may want to use next time:
