Classic mix-up this week that’s resulted in Kim Kardashian being sued: the 44-year-old law student accidentally posted a photo of a random man on her Instagram, mistaking him for a death row inmate of the same name.
Kim Kardashian wrote about the death penalty punishment of convicted murderer Ivan Cantu in a post advocating for criminal justice reform on Instagram.
Unfortunately instead of including a photo of the Texas prisoner, she shared one of a different Ivan Cantu – a project manager from New York – with her 350+ MILLION Instagram followers. Not good.
Non-murderer Ivan took to Facebook to assure his Facebook buddies that he’s not about to be executed:
Obviously having 350 million people who follow Kim Kardashian’s Instagram think you’re a murderer is not ideal, but it does present you with the opportunity to cash in on Kim’s c0ck-up, and that’s exactly what non-murderer Ivan is going to do. Via NY Post:
The New York man is suing Kim Kardashian for slander after she accidentally used his photo in an Instagram post about a Texas death row inmate who shared the same name, court papers show.
What an absolute dream. I’m not a lawyer or anything but I’m pretty sure Ivan Cantu is about to become a millionaire in the fastest and easiest way possible. And all because Kim Kardashian accidentally posted the wrong picture on Instagram! What a world.
A year from now, no one will even remember who Ivan Cantu is but he’ll be out on a tropical island somewhere enjoying his pay day all the same. Just needs to make sure he gets a lawyer who doesn’t completely f*** it up for him. Fair play, Ivan. Fair play indeed.
