I’m a big believer that if you play the long game when it comes to pranks and jokes, then when it does finally pay off that it’s almost definitely worth it.

I don’t know if I would have had the patience to wait seven years for the payoff of my joke though, but then again I’m not Twitter user Marcus Lepage, who joined the social networking site seven years ago and posted the following tweet:
https://twitter.com/MarcusLepage/status/1626015356
If you were one of his followers back then, you will have noticed that he stayed silent from that point onwards until yesterday, when he followed it up with this great jibe:

Come on that is funny, I bet you laughed. And it seems like a large portion of the population did too judging by how many people seem to have liked and retweeted it, and by the fact that Marcus now has about 3500 followers at the time of writing. Given that humdinger, he wasn’t going to follow it up with some dud tweet about his life, and instead decided to post this a few hours later:

Clearly, after waking up from a seven year slumber it all got a bit too much for Marcus when he awoke – especially when he started getting so much attention on his account – and it didn’t take too long for him to get tired of people and their bullshit. See you in 2023 Marcus, unless you wake up on time this time.
