Fast food is known as being kind of rank – how can it not be when it’s so cheap hey? – but it’s a whole different kind of rank when it looks like someone has popped a brain into your meal.

This was unfortunately what happened to KFC aficionado Sarah Palmer from Sydney – who has allegedly travelled all the way to Kentucky to sample the original Colonel’s chicken – on a recent late night visit to the chicken store, as instead of some of that delicious breast she was instead looking at something that resembled a chicken brain. Rank.
Sarah of course posted the picture on KFC’s Facebook page in a post that’s now been deleted. Here’s what she said:
Hi KFC, I’m a fan of KFC chicken, don’t get me wrong.
I love nugs just as much as the next person but today, upon purchasing what I had hoped would be some finger lickin’ good chicken from KFC Parramatta, I was horrified to find what looks like … brains.
This is not a typo, yep I mean brains, buried under your delicious secret herbs and spices. Imagine my horror, nausea and disappointment. I wish this didn’t affect me as much as it does but this has put a real strain on my relationship with KFC.
Would love your thoughts on how you think we can patch up our relationship. With fried regards, Sarah.
I mean yeah as rank as that looks I don’t think it’s actually a chicken’s brain because I mean have you seen their heads? There’s no way that something that big could fit up in that grill. As KFC said when they apologised, it’s probably more likely a gross piece of offal or kidney that they didn’t remove properly. Of course, people were quick to share and moan about it with the post quickly going viral before Sarah deleted it.
When you think about it though, is this really that bad? I remember about five years ago something like this happened in the UK and everyone kicked up a fuss about it, but when you think about how much chicken KFC must produce per day all over the world, is it really that bad that they’ve screwed up and got this brain looking stuff – that is actually kidneys or something else – in them twice over that period?
The answer is no, it really isn’t. It’s pretty rank but they’re doing a good job by KFC standards I guess. Whether those standards are to everyone’s tastes is another question entirely though.
