Keir Starmer Accidentally Called Rishi Sunak ‘Prime Minister’ 5 Times During PMQs

Is Keir Starmer aware that he’s the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and has been for 2 months now? Apparently not, because he kept referring to Rishi Sunak as ‘Prime Minister’ during PMQs the other night – a grand total of 5 (!) times:

Well, in fairness to Keir Starmer, he’s been Leader of the Opposition for 4 years and had been calling Rishi Sunak ‘Prime Minister’ for all that time, and so maybe it’s just a case of old habits dying hard.

Then again, if I were Keir Starmer, I would be absolutely relishing the chance to no longer call Rishi Sunak PM, because now I am the PM. It’s such an obvious and easy schadenfreude that I’m surprised Starmer keeps forgetting it. Couldn’t someone in the front row give him a kick or something?

In any case, the Tory leadership change clearly can’t come soon enough for Keir Starmer (and the rest of us, for that matter). Just so long as he isn’t exhibiting Joe Biden-levels of dementia, I think we can chalk this one up to a harmless mishap – even if it did happen 5 times on the same night. Still, not the greatest look for the new Prime Minister. whose approval rating continues to plummet following the riots a few weeks ago. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll turn it around at some point.
