The recent Blue Origin space mission that sent an all-female crew of astronauts – including Katy Perry, Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez – to space for 11 minutes was a complete waste of time and money, but for some reason Katy Perry thought people would think she was really cool for being a part of it.

Unfortunately for Perry, the backlash and mockery has been non-stop, with even fast-food chain Wendy’s having a cheeky dig at her.

Many people on social media don’t even believe the stunt was real and claim it was staged in a studio. Either way, most social media users seem to think it was completely meaningless and self-serving. Meanwhile, Katy Perry thought it was a symbolic victory for women in space, and even claimed the mission was “for the benefit of Earth”. What?

And so, Katy Perry is now reportedly “feeling regret” over the whole thing. Although not necessarily over going to space herself, but rather going ‘public’ with it. As if there’s any celebrity on Earth who would go to space and manage to keep quiet about it.

A source said: “Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it.”

The source added that Perry “regrets sharing the daisy with the world,” referring to the flower she brought to space that she thought was going to be an iconic watershed moment, and she “wishes the video footage from inside the pod was never shown.”

Fair enough really. I’d also feel regret about something I did if I was being thoroughly mocked over it by everyone and their mothers. Even her fellow celebrities are having a pop at her, with names including Olivia Wilde, Emily Ratajkowski, Joe Rogan and Tim Dillon all criticising the mission/cracking jokes about it.

Ultimately, I think Katy Perry needs to sack her PR team. Anyone with a brain could have told her that people were going to find this whole thing incredibly dumb and nauseating.

She also recently released a song called ‘Woman’s World’ that was meant to champion women, but the guy who produced the track was infamous for sexually assaulting women. How clueless can you get?

Anyway, maybe someone will write her a banger that can turn her fortunes around. Onwards and upwards (pun not intended but intended).
