I’m not sure anyone’s reputation on this planet precedes them more than Katie Price, and unfortunately for her that’s resulted in paying a ridiculous premium in order to even be legally able to drive.

The Page 3 legend has no choice but to pay 5 figures in insurance due to her long history of driving bans and offences, including flipping her BMW on the B2135 near Partridge Green in West Sussex while under the influence of drink and drugs in 2021.

At the time, she was handed a 16-week suspended sentence, as well as being disqualified from driving for two years and ordered to pay £85 costs. She was also given 100 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement sessions.

Now she’s back on the roads (God help us) – but it’s costing her £14,000, and could’ve actually been a lot worse, as she explained on TikTok:

‘No insurance company will insure me on a new car or anything flash, nothing.

So I am just lucky to be on the road in the car I am in, it’s not the car I want to be driving but no one will insure me. I have to wait a year to be able to get a new car again – but I’m grateful to drive.

The quotes I had for my insurance on a normal car that is [worth] £15k was £73k, one was £53k and one was £33k, and they were my quotes because no one else would insure me because of who I am.’

She accused the companies of ‘discrimination’ against her because she doesn’t have a ‘normal job’, and was actually able to bring the quotes down to £14k after changing her occupation to ‘author’:

‘I changed it to author and the insurance is £14k for a year but it’s still not the car I want.’

I don’t care. I am on the road, so it is what it is. I shouldn’t have done what I did, so you have to pay the price.

So in a year’s time I will get the car I want and until then I am grateful.’

What can you say really? Katie Price gonna Katie Price. Meanwhile, son Harvey just bagged himself a Guinness World Record for the longest drawing of a train ever made. Go Harvey Go!
