Turns out that releasing a grainy, UFO-style image of Kate Middleton wasn’t the best way to shut down all the wacky conspiracy theories doing the rounds, with new questions arising after someone unblurred the image that was released by TMZ (and possibly staged by the Royals) late last week:

Indeed, the internet is not convinced that it is genuinely Kate Middleton in that car, and it’s only made the rumours and conspiracies around her absence worse. Here’s some more internet sleuth detective work on the images:

Now in fairness to the Royal family, no one actually said it was Kate Middleton riding as a passenger except for TMZ. It could just as easily be Katie Holmes! In fact some people are even suggesting that it’s Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa, which sounds a lot less insane than the ‘body double’ rumours, but then again, the body double rumours are more interesting, so let’s try and keep an open mind.
As we’ve said before, the most likely scenario is that Kate Middleton is genuinely recovering from whatever ‘abdominal surgery’ she underwent and doesn’t want to be seen or to even talk about it until Easter. Still, the British public are so used to being clued in on every facet of Royal family life that it’s just a bit weird that they’re being so vague and secretive about it. Especially when you have King Charles being struck by cancer and Camilla taking a leave of absence at the same time. Is the Royal Family falling apart before our very eyes?!
