There’s been a load of stuff on the internet recently about Karen’s Diner; the chain of restaurants in which staff yell at you, call you stupid, and generally do their best to treat you with disdain. Sounds a bit weird, but it’s all part of the experience if you’re into that sort of thing.

They do have some rules for the staff at Karen’s Diner though; no racism, no sexism, no homophobia, and no bodyshaming. I guess one staff member at this branch in Brisbane missed the memo on that one, and really hurt this guy’s feelings when cracking a joke about his bald head:

Love the move of bodyshaming the waitress while complaining that she was bodyshaming him. Although I guess it highlights his point that it’s just mean and unnecessary. Even still, you’ve got to be thicker-skinned than that when eating at Karen’s Diner, even if bodyshaming is technically against the rules. I mean of all the rules staff could break, a receding hairline joke is probably the tamest one.

Will be interesting to see how long Karen’s Diner lasts because it feels like the novelty would wear off after one visit. Then again, I probably wouldn’t go in the first place. Why would I pay to get roasted at a restaurant when I get that at home for free?
