Boris Johnson’s popularity has slumped in recent months thanks to his handling of COVID-19, but at least he could count on his good buddy Donald Trump being the President of the USA. Well that’s about to change now that Joe Biden is President and Kamala Harris is VP, because they both think Boris is a bit of a twat.

According to The Sunday Times, Kamala ‘hates’ Boris and Joe Biden’s entire team are still fuming over a remark Boris made on Obama back in 2016. Boris had called Obama’s decision to remove a bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval Office ‘a symbol of the part-Kenyan president’s ancestral dislike of the British empire.’

A source within Biden’s camp told the paper:

If you think Joe hates him, you should hear Kamala.

One of Obama’s former aides who also worked alongside Biden, Tommy Vietor, fired warning shots at Boris over Twitter in response to Boris congratulating Biden/Harris on their win:

Concluding US/UK trade talk deals in a post-Brexit world won’t be as easy on Boris now that Biden/Harris are in charge, so it will be interesting to see how the two camps establish a rapport ahead of all that.

The source also told The Times:

They do not think Boris Johnson is an ally. They think Britain is an ally.

But there will be no special relationship with Boris Johnson.

Blimey. Will the Tories be sharpening their knives at that last sentence? Honestly can’t see Boris lasting through next year with how things have gone. Not to mention he’s apparently unhappy with his salary. Was Boris Johnosn just meant to be the Brexit fall guy all along?

Aside from that, don’t think Biden/Harris can lecture him on racism given America has a much bigger problem with that than the UK does. Maybe they could focus on that instead of bringing up something Boris said in 2016? I mean it’s not like Boris has a sizable record of racist/homophobic/sexist views, like say calling gay dudes ‘tank topped bum boys’ and black people ‘picaninnies’ with ‘watermelon smiles’ is it? Oh wait…

Anyway, let’s hope they can at least keep things civil for all our sakes. As hilarious as Trump was at times, I think we all know deep down he shouldn’t have been President of the US, and ousting him hopefully means politics can become a bit less of a circus. Will Boris fix up and be the leader we need him to be?
