Very sad story out of Parma, Ohio, this week as adult film legend Kagney Linn Karter was found dead at her home aged 36. It feels like we get these incredibly tragic stories from the porn industry more and more frequently these days, with another legend of the game, Jesse Jane, found dead in similar circumstances less than a month ago.
According to the Parma Police Department, Kagney Linn Karter took her own life – something since confirmed by friends of hers who’ve now started a GoFundMe on behalf of her mum, Tina.
I did some research on Kagney for the sake of this blog and found she had won several AVN awards and had a fairly sizable following, and even appeared on a Louis Theroux documentary about the adult film industry. It seems she had left the porn industry a while ago and was now focusing on pole dancing and setting up her own pole dancing studio in Cleveland.
From what I can tell, Kagney Linn Karter was a consummate professional and a great person to be around, and this is just another tragic example of someone in the industry struggling to their mental health, especially after retirement, and it ending in a way we are seeing all too often.
