Last month Jordan Peterson caused absolute pandemonium on Twitter after calling plus-size model Yumi Nu ‘not beautiful’, later expanding his point that her Sports Illustrated cover shoot was “a conscious attempt to manipulate & retool the notion of beauty, reliant on the idiot philosophy that such preferences are learned & properly changed by those who know better.”
The backlash was so great that he literally quit Twitter and now has a staff member do his Tweeting for him. Well the other day the addressed the reaction to his Tweet while on daughter Mikhaila Peterson’s podcast, and it sounds like he’s sticking to his guns:

Full clip at the bottom of this blog if you’re interested, but that’s basically the gist of it. Pretty shocking to hear Dr. Peterson dropping F bombs (!) but I suppose he’s giving less of a sh*t about the outrage mob as he gets older. I guess he’s not ‘wrong’ with what he’s saying, but no one was ever going to interpret his original Tweet that way when all it said was ‘Sorry, not beautiful’. There was just no way that was ever going to end well for him on a place like Twitter.
I don’t know why Peterson bothers to stir the pot with topics like these TBH. He’s got so much more valuable things to say in his area of expertise – psychology. Yeah OK he’s entitled to his opinion and it’s tough to have an opinion these days without stirring said pot, but he really should choose his battles (and words) more carefully IMO. Or maybe he could invite Yumi Nu onto his podcast and they can talk about the whole thing like adults? Yeah, fat chance…
