I’m not sure that anyone would have predicted that Johnny Depp would have wound down from the end of his trial with Amber Heard by joining Jeff Beck on tour in the UK and rocking out with him every night, but that seems like exactly what he’s decided to do after being videoed rocking out in Sheffield and London in the past couple of days.

Beck was playing at the Royal Albert Hall in the capital last night and Depp joined him on stage to bust out their 2020 song ‘Isolation’ as well as covers of Marvin Gay’s ‘What’s Going On?’ and Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Little Wing’. There was sustained applause for Depp and the crowd could be heard chanting his name for an extended period of time following his appearance.

You can check out footage from it below, and here’s what gig attendee Angela Flannery had to say about Depp showing up too:

I was pretty shocked.

[I have] always been a massive fan of his. My other half took me to this gig just to see Jeff Beck, I had no idea Johnny would be playing.

It was brilliant, such a fantastic night in general… a special mention to the drummer girl, she was absolutely amazing [and] Johnny Depp smashed it.

I’ll die happy [that] I’ve been in the same room as him now.

Fangirl much?

I suppose reactions like this to Johnny Depp showing up anywhere prove that no matter what happens in the verdict of his trial, he’s well and truly won in the court of public opinion. Whether that will be enough to get his career back on track remains to be seen, but there are already rumours that he’s been cast in the new ‘Beetlejuice’ movie, so maybe things are already in motion for the guy?
