Eni Aluko has revealed that she’s fled the UK due to the abuse that Joey Barton has given her, which left her fearing for her safety and afraid to leave her home.
The former England striker also revealed in an Instagram video that she is taking legal action after Barton compared her and fellow ITV pundit Lucy Ward to serial killers Fred and Rose West.
No sympathy from Joey Barton it seems, who has fired off these Tweets in response:
Cry me a fucking river…
I was waiting for the victim card to be played.
Eni, sorry luv, you’re dreadful as a pundit.
Tone deaf, can’t count and most importantly you know next to nothing about men’s football.
You should have ran off to a desert island after your ‘Arteta… pic.twitter.com/uc4tbzrLdv

What surprised me the most is all her colleagues and peers saying she’s was ‘smashing it’s to her face.
Done well to keep a straight face the fella. 🥷
Someone’s a bad baldy tire. 🤣

Jeez, this guy just won’t let it go, will he? I know there are a lot of people who agree with Joey Barton’s sentiments on women’s football and women’s punditry on the men’s game, but why does he have to make his point in the style of an internet troll who’s getting off on the idea that he’s prompted thousands of likeminded trolls to harass a woman on social media?
I mean, I get that this viral image might have touched a nerve, but that’s hardly Aluko’s fault:
Besides, Joey Barton still hasn’t responded to the $10,000 challenge that would see him attempt to score 100 out of 100 penalties against England goalkeeper Mary Earps, which is something he claimed he could do while crying over the fact she won Sports Personality of the Year.
Come on Joey, you’ve never been one to backtrack. Step up and accept the challenge!
For more Joey Barton, here he is discussing art with The Guardian. Lol.
