You no doubt heard about the absolutely awful massacre of 19 school children and two adults at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last week which led to most people with brains to call for the United States government to clamp down on gun control, so I’m surprised that it’s taken so long for Joe Rogan to chime in with his moronic opinions on the issue.

Rogan hasn’t disappointed though, speaking to scientist Lex Fridman on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ last week and weighing in with his two cents – and it’s just as stupid as you imagine:

It’s like, how do you stop that? No one knows how to stop that.
What is the answer? Is the answer to take everyone’s guns? Well, they’re not gonna give their guns up. Only criminals are gonna have guns. It’s not gonna be a good situation.
It’s not smart to take all the guns away from people and give all the power to the government’.
We see how they are with an armed populace, they still have a tendency towards totalitarianism.
And the more increased power and control you have over people, the easier it is for them to do what they do.
And it’s a natural inclination, when you’re a person in power, to try to hold more power and acquire more power.
What? I guess he’s right that Americans that own guns absolutely don’t want to give them up, but you only have to look at how there are pretty much zero school shootings in countries where guns are illegal and that there’s also way less crime and regular shootings etc in those countries as well to realise gun control is a good idea. The way he’s talking, it also kinda sounds like he thinks that civilians are regularly rising up to stop criminals robbing banks or whatever trouble they get into over there too. Isn’t that what the police are for? Why doesnn’t he get Jamie to pull up some stats about any of those issues?
Not really sure how he’s managed to start talking about government control there when the issue is gun control, but I suppose he doesn’t really need much of an excuse to go off about any of his wacky conspiracy theories does he? Can’t wait to hear how many idiots start quoting him verbatim about something it seems so obvious they should just ban to stop innocent school kids getting shot every fucking week? Nice one Joe.
It’s so ridiculous that anyone thinks unregulated gun ownership is a good idea – stop being a knob about this Joe. For once.
For more of the same, check out when Joe Rogan had a meltdown about a fake news story he made up himself. Guy needs to get a grip.
