The World Cup final on Sunday was one of the greatest sporting events of all time, but this special weekend will also go down in history as the one where the most complained article of all time was written by Jeremy Clarkson and then published by The Sun.

I am of course referring to his now infamous takedown of Meghan Markle, where he said that he lay awake at night grinding his teeth because he hated her so much, wishing that she would have to parade naked through a town whilst people threw stuff at her to atone for her sins. I reckon that whatever you think about Meghan Markle then that’s probably a bit much for some who’s never even met her to write down in a national newspaper? Bordering on psychopathic really.

Anyway, Clarkson did issue some half assed apology yesterday, but that didn’t stop even more people complaining to the Independent Press Standards Organisation about the article. As of 9am this morning it had received over 17,500 complaints about it, having only received 14,355 throughout the entirety of 2021.

I’m sure Clarkson will be especially proud of that statistic and to be fair to him it’s quite a phenomenal victory for him. If only it had been for doing something that didn’t make him seem like a complete and utter prxck hey?

Not really sure what the IPSO are going to do about this or if they even can do anything, but it’s still a crazy story to hear how many complaints that they’ve received because of the article. Maybe they could parade him naked around a town and have everyone throw stuff at him? Would attend.
