Everyone is talking about Jeremy Clarkson’s lengthy but very disingenuous apology to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yesterday that he issued after it was revealed that Amazon had cancelled both of his TV shows, and now he’s dropped the biggest hint yet that he didn’t actually mean a word that he was saying yesterday.

Clarkson was obviously searching Twitter to find out what people were saying about him and his apology earlier today and decided to like a tweet from some random guy saying that he had ‘caved to the woke’. Here’s the tweet from some nobody called Steven Beresford:
Oh @JeremyClarkson you caved into the woke by apologizing and Amazon are still going to cancel you anyway.
Was it worth it?Never explain, never apologize
You’ve lost my respect.— Stephen Beresford (@beres444) January 16, 2023
And here’s a screenshot from Clarkson showing that he’s quite clearly ‘liked’ it:
Well what does that mean hey? I guess the most obvious point is that Clarkson has realised that his false apology hasn’t really meant anything and even his most ardent anti-woke supporters have lost faith in him as a result of it and he’s trying to subtlety let people know he feels the same way?
What a whirlwind 24 hours for him. It must have been tough for him to issue that apology, but to realise that it hasn’t actually meant anything and his shows have still been cancelled and he’s losing fans must be a major bummer for him.
Considering what happened with ‘Top Gear’ becoming ‘The Grand Tour’ though, does anyone really think that Clarkson will be off our screens for long? Someone is surely going to take a punt on him again aren’t they? People like him always manage to win and I doubt this situation is going to be any different. Guy needs to chill out. He’ll come out on top like he always does.
