More and more women in Hollywood are sharing their humiliating and excruciating stories in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the latest to share her experience is Jennifer Lawrence.

Lawrence was speaking at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event last night when she revealed how she was body shamed by a female producer during one of her first auditions:
A female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me.
We are stood side-by-side with only tape covering our privates. After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.
I expressed my concerns about this to another male producer and he said he didn’t understand what the problem was – I was perfectly f*ckable and he didn’t understand why everyone thought I was so fat.

Wow. It’s kind of insane that you could think someone would talk to anyone like that, but I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised after the revelations of the last week, or maybe ever given Hollywood’s traditional obsession with good looks and sex.
It seems like we were all very naive and it just completely sucks that so many women – and to a lesser extent men – have had to go through experiences like this in order to further their careers. Here’s hoping that these stories can help everybody act a lot better in the future.
For more of the same, check out all the stuff that’s been said about Harvey Weinstein in the last week. Truly harrowing stuff.
