Jennifer Coolidge once confessed that she slept with 200 guys off the back of her role as Stifler’s Mom in American Pie, but apparently that’s nothing compared to the sex she’s been getting since playing Tanya in The White Lotus.
Coolidge says that even though she plays a “complete weirdo” on White Lotus, her love life has never been, um, busier. Coolidge told The Sunday Times:
“Even though I play a complete weirdo in White Lotus, cute guys come up to me. This is far better than American Pie because people were really sad about Tanya falling off a boat. These men like you better because they feel that you went through something. That show really upped my game!”
“Look, I got a lot of benefits out of Stifler’s Mom — believe me…. They might be over now, but once in a while you still get a Stifler’s mom thing.”
It turns out that playing a rich, emotionally fragile damsel in distress pulls way more guys than playing a “hot mum” – who knew?
I suppose if you think about it, it actually makes sense. Every boy/man loves the idea of “getting with your friend’s mum”, but when it comes down to it, guys will always choose a girl who needs a hero to come save them. It’s in our DNA! And who needs a hero more than Tanya McQuoid in White Lotus? She’s sad, paranoid, ridiculous, but is also unbelievably wealthy and a complete and utter minx. Definitely more fun and interesting than your friend’s mum, right? Even if it wouldn’t be as hilarious.
Looking into it, 63-year-old Coolidge has never been married and doesn’t have kids, so I guess it’s only right she sh@g her way around town (she even once pretended to have an identical twin so she could sh@g two guys at once). After all, long-term dating has never really worked out for her:
“I wanted this guy that I was obsessed with. I wanted him to like me, so I went completely off-track. I wasted a lot of time — and that moment passes. And, God, if I could live my life over again, I wouldn’t have done what I did.”
“It was guys and, well, everyone wants certain things in their life at a certain time,” she shared. “I was trying to have relationships with men who were unavailable, or there are guys out there who really hate women deep down and I certainly dated them.”
Fair play to her.
