You probably couldn’t think of two people with less potential for sexual chemistry/tension than Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega, and yet they’re starring together in erotically-charged thriller Miller’s Girl, where Freeman plays a failed writer and teacher being seduced by his 17-year-old student.
This scene between the actors, who have 31 years between them, is doing the rounds and is making Twitter/X users disgusted/mad/h0rny, respectively:

Tellingly, the clip has 49,000 (!) bookmarks, which means X users have saved it to return to later. Wonder why?
There was already lots of talk on social media before the movie came out in the US last week, complaining about its questionable plotline. But it’s not like this story hasn’t been told a hundred times before with other films. It’s just so random that it’s Martin Freeman (complete with American accent) playing opposite Jenna Ortega, who has now been pretty much typecast in this creepy child prodigy role.
Doesn’t seem to be any word on when Miller’s Girl is out in the UK, but I’m sure it will be on streaming platforms soon enough so we can all check out the awkwardness between Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega for ourselves.
