Action hero Jean Claude Van-Damme is facing a criminal investigation after he allegedly received five Romanian women as a “gift” from a group of traffickers while in Cannes, France, with full prior knowledge that the women were trafficked.

Van Damme, of course, denies that he knew the women were trafficked. I mean, to be fair, who among us hasn’t received five women as a gift and just assumed it was totally legal and OK, it happens all the time?

Van Damme’s agent Patrick Goavec said in a statement to People:

“We have become aware of articles alleging an alleged affair in Cannes involving Mr Jean-Claude Van Damme.

“The reported facts are both grotesque and non-existent. Mr Van Damme does not wish to comment or fuel this rumour, which is as absurd as it is unfounded.”

Unfounded or not, a criminal complaint had been filed against Van Damme, 63, with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). Which is the same group that went after Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate and had them locked up for all that time. Maybe they’re the ones who supplied Van Damme with the girls?

Attorney Adrian Cuculis, who is representing one of the alleged victims, told Antena 3: “Several Romanians who are currently being investigated for forming a criminal group and pimping, allegedly offered Jean-Claude Van Damme five Romanian women – photo models in Romania – for him to have sexual relations with”.

Very disappointing if true. The only way I would ever have imagined Van Damme having sex with trafficked Romanian women is if he first beat the sh1t out of the traffickers in a Bloodsport-style tournament after turning away the offer of the girls and fighting for their freedom instead. And then, maybe, getting it on with one of them consensually. Unfortunately it seems he’s a bit of sleazebag in real life and not the righteous hero he portrayed in all those classic action films back in the day.

Speaking of which, maybe he could blame this all on his identical twin that he never knew existed?

Whatever happens, let’s hope justice is served.
